Where did she go?
Two years after the events of When it’s Too Late to Tell, Mark and Jade Cooke, find themselves in the best position of their ten year marriage. Mark loves Jade and Jade loves Mark, but for Mark, there is still a lingering feeling that his inadequacies will not allow him to be truly happy. Having lost his job and any hope of once again becoming the great teacher he once was, Mark feels useless. Serving as a key witness in a locally publicized trial against his ex-fiance Alicia hasn’t done him any favors either. Furthermore, he can’t seem to get his dead brother out of his mind….
Jade is proud of the transformation her and Mark’s marriage has taken. Though she would never boast about it, she also feels pride in supporting their family financially. Jade picked up a job working in a pharmaceutical firm and found herself rising through the ranks faster than anyone she has heard of before. She thought this had to be of God, but finds her fast rise seems to have come at a price….
Craig and Berta Barlow are married but neither of them would say it has been a completely happy journey. They both feel like the other has changed but Craig is the one who finds it difficult to keep his head in the conversation of what is wrong with their marriage. He tries to move forward, but the dark and ugly parts of his past make a roaring comeback; parts that Berta does not and should not know about….
Berta wishes she had a marriage like Mark and Jade, but she and Craig are two different people with a different set of expectations. She fears those differences will tear them apart. She finds out her biological father died and for some odd reason, finds it difficult to stay away from his funeral. Thus begins a winding trail of self discovery that makes her question everything, and everyone in her past. Including Craig….
Then, Jade goes missing….

You know I read the 1st book and could not wait to get to book 2. As I went to Amazon to purchase, I noticed the author was male. Interesting the story seems to be written from the female prospective. I went back and looked at his profile and was very impressed. I have been looking for more male authors that are not writing the urban street stories. I just purchased book 3 and I can't wait to conclude this journey with Craig and Berta and especially Mark and Jade. Sounds like it's going to take a lot of faith and hard work to make these relationships work! Kudos J. Evans Johnson! Top 5 for 2017 in my book!Product details

Great story. Can't wait for volume 3.
Just when you think the demons of your past are buried,every now and then one gets resurrected. Mark,Jade Craig, and Berta never saw it coming! This is a story of faith, marriage and loss. One couple is praying to stay on track as they recover from a whirlwind year and the other couple just hit a wall. Their pasts bond them closer but the cost might be too high to pay. Can not wait for part 3!
Jade Cooke (pharmaceutical co. Marketing VP) & Mark Cooke (unemployed) were going to bible study.
Mark stopped to talk with Pastor Brentwood.
Alicia (Mark’s ex-fiancé) had tried to kill the couple & now was out of jail, who knows where.
What were Mark & Craig Barlow (Alberta’s husband) looking for in an attic?
Why was Mark in the hospital & Jade in ICU?
Dr. Chalmers is attending to them.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great mystery movie, or better yet a mini TV series. It was just OK for me so I will rate it at 4/5 stars.

Amazing and dramatic. This book took me through many twists and turns. I was happy, sad and mad.
I wanted to jump in this book and just slap everyone. It was good, exhausting but good. I am hoping in part three everything falls back into place.
I enjoyed reading this book.....was sad to see Berta let the past ruin her future....felt bad for Jade and Mark with a lie disrupting their lives in a major way and Craig wanting to do right but......his past catching up to him....worth the read
